Permanent Makeup

What is permanent makeup?

Permanent makeup, also known as Micropigmentation, consists of implanting natural pigments (vegetable and mineral extracts) under the superficial layers of the skin by means of a small, sterile micro-needle, to create lasting cosmetic definition of the lips, eyes, and eyebrows. Micropigmentation can also be used correctively, in areas where hair or colour is missing. These hypo-allergenic pigments are specifically designed for use on the delicate skin of the face, and contain no added fragrances or emollients.

What are the hygiene conditions?

You can be assured that the highest standards of safety and hygiene are strictly observed. Sanitary surroundings, disposable sterile needles and surgical gloves are used for each procedure.

How long do the results last?

Your results can last up to 5 years. However, results vary according to skin type, the treated area, and colour chosen – the darker the colour, the longer it lasts. Immediately after treatment, the colour may be more dramatic than expected; within 4-10 days of your treatment, the colour will become 30%-50% lighter. It will continue to fade for up to 8 weeks. At this time, a touch-up can be preformed to sharpen the desired colour and shape of the treated area, if necessary. Sun exposure, tanning booths, various drugs, excessively dry skin, and smoking are all factors that may affect your results. Also, it is essential that sunscreen or sunblock be applied over the treated area(s) whenever you are exposed to the sun or a tanning bed.

Does it hurt?

Topical anesthetics are used to numb the area and minimize discomfort. Most people describe a mild, gentle, plucking sensation, if anything. The results and years of looking great more than justify the slight discomfort of the short treatment.

Are there risks?
